I’m Zenobia, but most know me as Zena, a qualified therapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, BACP.
I work within their ethical framework, providing a space where you are my priority and you decide what we talk about- It’s Your Agenda.
Before training as a therapist, I spent 20 years as a solicitor specialising in family, employment, human rights, and property law.
I understand the pressures of balancing a demanding career, young and teenage children, and the desire to be the best parent, partner, and friend, while managing finances and everyday responsibilities.
Personal challenges prompted me to pause and rethink my priorities. I retrained as a psychotherapist, and became captivated by the transformative power of therapy.
I have insight into the challenges young people face, as well as the difficulties parents experience when their child is struggling.
These perspectives deepen my understanding of the complex emotions and pressures within family life and motivated me to embark on the rigorous journey to qualify as a therapist, combining personal awareness with professional skill to offer meaningful support to adults, young people, and families.

Reaching out for therapy, or even the idea of meeting a therapist can feel daunting. Talking about deeply personal or painful experiences can be challenging.
With this in mind, I offer a free 30- minute introductory chat with no obligation to continue.
You don’t need to share anything until you feel ready. My focus is on building trust, care, and respect from our very first interaction. Counselling with me is at your pace. It’s Your Agenda we follow. This ensures your therapy feels manageable, supportive, and empowering.
Freya, my fluffy, compassionate, and silently supportive dog can join our sessions if you would like her to. Rest assured, she is adept at maintaining client confidentiality!
I also offer walking therapy in local woods or parks. For some, it’s easier to open up while moving.

As a British Indian female therapist, and a parent to young adults, I bring warmth, cultural understanding, and real-world experience to my work.
I’ve supported people through moments of deep crisis and despair; when life feels unbearable, when guilt or shame take over, or when old wounds from childhood still quietly shape the present.
My experience across MIND, Juno, Embrace, Rennie Grove, and Cassiobury Court Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centre means I know how to stay steady in the storm and help you find calm when everything feels chaotic, and see a way forward, when hope feels out of reach.
As both a therapist and a parent, I understand the messiness of real life. The fear, love, frustration, and heartbreak it can bring and I offer a space where all of that is welcome.
I don’t just listen; I help you find meaning in what feels overwhelming, rebuild confidence in your own strength, and move towards a life that feels more like yours again.
I have worked in a wide range of complex and challenging settings:
